Marina Speroni

Visual artist

Born in Buenos Aires in 1980, Marina Speroni is an Argentine contemporary artist whose work intertwines emotion, architecture, and storytelling through expressive use of colour and atmosphere. Entirely self-taught, she discovered her passion for painting early in life, developing a distinctive visual language guided by instinct, movement, and tone.

Now based in London, Marina has exhibited in Buenos Aires and London, earning a growing following for her evocative, atmospheric works that celebrate movement, memory, and the beauty of everyday life. Through her art, she continues to express what words cannot — the quiet strength and resilience that live within ordinary moments.

Her work

Her paintings are distinguished by their rich palettes — Vermilion reds, Prussian blues, warm ochres, and soft Ivory blacks — often layered within moody urban scenes that evoke a cinematic stillness and emotional depth. Drawing on her background as a sports journalist and her family’s deep connection to football, Marina often explores the passion, unity, and spirit found in the culture of the game.

Her creations reveal a sensitivity to both the human experience and the built environment, balancing poetic emotion with structural precision. Comparisons to L. S. Lowry and David Hockney highlight her ability to blend the observational with the lyrical — creating paintings that feel timeless, familiar, and deeply human.
