ABOUT ME

Marina was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1980.
From a very early age, she taught herself different art mediums, compositions and techniques, taking also part in several exhibitions. Due to the excessive use of vermilion red, Prussian blue, ochre and ivory black colours and also the emphasis on buildings and dark and gloomy atmospheres; influences from the artist L S Lowry have been attributed to her.
Parallel to her artworks, Marina graduated with honours and worked as a sport journalist back home, but once stablished in the UK since 2001, she made the decision to embrace her love of art.
'At first, I found it difficult to get a job as a journalist because my English wasn't up to the standards, so I decided to resume painting. It was then when I realised that I didn't need words to express feelings, emotions... only a pencil.'
