ABOUT ME

Marina Speroni is an Argentine artist born in Buenos Aires in 1980. She developed a passion for art at an early age, teaching herself various techniques and compositions. Her artistic style is characterised by the use of vibrant colours, particularly Vermilion red, Prussian blue, ochre and Ivory black with emphasis on buildings and dark, gloomy atmospheres, drawing comparisons to the style of L. S. Lowry. She often also features themes related to sports, influenced by her background as a sports journalist and her familial connections to football which has significantly shaped her artistic focus on football-related subjects. Her artwork includes tributes to stadiums and features a range of subjects, including white papery birch trees, which have been likened to the works of David Hockney.

After moving to the UK in 2001, she decided to pursue her love for painting full-time, realising that art allowed her to express emotions beyond words.
